We begin your discovery after dark with Va Va Vanilla by Sarah Baker Perfumes. Inspired by the hedonism of a hidden speakeasy, notes of espresso martini and black cherry mingle with rum, coffee and vanilla before leather and woods give all that sweetness an edge. Sweet? Absolutely. Innocent? Not even close. Next, a new release from Essential Parfums, Ambre Latte lures us in with luscious sniffs of almond milk, roasted tonka and creamy dulce de leche. But underneath

Inspired by melting a chocolate mint into hot coffee and adding Irish cream. Cool mint, dark coffee, chocolate and bourbon vanilla somehow feel both refreshing and decadent, a lovely twist in indie perfumery.

Enter Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy Paris. An oversized dose of Java vetiver meets nutmeg, patchouli and sandalwood in a fragrance built around provocation and impulse. Dry, earthy and unapologetically bold, it seems perfectly comfortable breaking a few rules. Then Cedrat Lova, a new launch by Montale, gives us a flash of new light. Sicilian citron, bergamot and Calabrian lemon practically glow before sandalwood, oud and Cuban tobacco begin pulling things toward the shadows. Don't mistake the bright opening for innocence; it’s a stunning transition into the base of the fragrance. And finally, there's Velvet Vendetta by Sarah Baker Perfumes. Vanilla leaves dessert behind for the Wild West, where gunsmoke, bourbon and black olive meet tobacco, deadwood, molasses and dark vanilla. Vendetta by Sarah Baker Perfumes takes vanilla into the Nevada desert. Gunsmoke, bourbon, tobacco, deadwood and molasses surround dark vanilla for a finale that's smoky, sweet and just a little dangerous.
