What happens when vanilla stays out past its bedtime? Perfumer Margaux Le Paih-Guérin imagined a hidden speakeasy at dusk, where espresso martinis and manhattans mingle with dark vanilla infused in the dimly lit air. Black cherry and cinnamon provide the first temptation before coffee, rum, saffron and crushed nuts pull you farther inside. Eventually leather, sandalwood and guaiac wood take over, giving all that sweetness a darker edge. It's warm, boozy and unapologetically adult—proof that vanilla can behave very badly when given the opportunity.
