  This is Version 2. The Soft Lawn is inspired by a 1916 book of the same name by American Claude LeCoq. The book captures the spirit of "adolescent upper-class rebellion in New England," where a sporting game of tennis is the pastime, attendance at high-society dinners is de rigueur, and a love affair with a certain young woman of a lower social class is forbidden fruit. The catch? Both the perfume, and the back story, are inventions of perfume Josh Meyer's mind.

• "I love the idea of an austere weekend scent, something that’s very upper-crust and casual, unlike a boardroom or evening scent, which Creed's Bois du Portugal could be described as. The Soft Lawn was created for spring and summer, not to mention it was really fun for me to create something slightly tennis related, a fragrance to wear to Wimbledon as opposed to many 'sport' scents which give the impression of wearing them while sporting. This one isn't something that you would want to garden in.
