Amouage

Reflection Man Sample

    • This is a 2.25 ml spray sample. Find the full bottle here.

Amouage always takes delight in tangling your senses, gloriously overloading them with perfectly balanced accords. Each scent asks your time and thought -- they are never sniff-and-go. Neither is the man (or woman) found wearing them. If masculine security had a smell, this would be exactly it. Herbaceous rosemary and bitter orange leaves greet you at the outset and give way to red pepper berries that hold a spicy-juicy quality in the backdrop. As the top graciously leaves center stage, we discover an actual bouquet of orris, jasmine, and ylang-ylang, enrobed floral-citrus of neroli. Yes, men, you’ve been given a bouquet of flowers -- and it’s pretty gorgeous, even you have to admit. But if you reflect a moment, and accept this bouquet, under it you will find a comforting, earthy base of vetiver, patchouli, and creamy woods. Of course, in the territory of Amouage, even these typical masculine fragrance base notes are anything but typical. Patience and reflection with this scent will be greatly rewarded -- most likely with a taller walk and a few head turns. Notes include rosemary, red pepper berries, bitter orange leaves, neroli, orris, jasmine, ylang ylang, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood.
    • In 1983, the Sultan of Oman established Amouage in the hopes of reviving the Omani tradition of perfumery. The perfumes often feature traditional Middle Eastern perfume materials. In 2006, Amouage brought on creative director Christopher Chong, who oversaw a complete reinvention of the house and helped to expand the house's international appeal.
