Inspired by the ancient Buddhist incense ceremonies in Japan, this scent story follows a monk’s journey up a mountain and captures his enlightened spirit as the moon slips away giving rise to morning. Exploring the olfactory passage from cold night to daybreak and the effect it has on the smell of the crisp mountain air, forest trees, and the few belongings he’s brought with him - including a yuzu and his incense for prayer. Japanese yuzu is invigorated by transparent ozonic notes, while vetiver & black tea align with the clearness of cedar and the creamy lemon of hinoki woods. A cleansing scent for your soul.
