Not your average solar fragrance. Dormir al Sol (“Asleep in the Sun”) might be about drifting off under summer sun, but this is no fluffy, trite, coconutty spritzer. This is surprising and serious perfumery. Shockingly, it’s very earthy. Smoky guaiac wood, leathery saffron, underground-like patchouli and vetiver are definitely putting in work here. But a little presence and patience will be rewarded by an intoxicating blooming open of a rich, airy-honey mimosa absolute drenched in the caramelized sweetness of brandy. A truly transportive meditation on earth, air, and sun, this is a true sun-flecked dreamscape.
