Perfumer Josh Meyer dreamed up a pretend novel called A City on Fire and then made a scent to go with it. The premise is that two matchmakers -- one who literally makes matches in a factory and one who writes a dating column -- both witness a high-profile murder and must come together as an unlikely vigilante pair to save their own names. Will someone please write this book for real? Is Michael Chabon for hire?
Notes include cade oil, spikenard, cardamom, clearwood, dark berries, labdanum, and burnt match.
