David Seth Moltz (the D.S.) and Kavi Ahuja Moltz (the Durga) had an idea to tell rich, narrative stories through smell, based on myths and landscapes. Liner notes, playlists, images, films, nature, and design are all interwoven through D.S & Durga’s works to help bring the stories and spaces to life.
David, the self-taught perfumer behind the bottles, runs the operation with his wife Kavi, affectionately nicknamed after the Hindu goddess Durga, and a former architect, who is the designer behind the brand.
Each scent focuses on real world objects, plants, and places, with a flair for the elegant and edgy. Way ahead of the niche fragrance curve, the brand was founded in 2007, and since, they’ve become indie darlings of the olfactory world - even collaborating with the likes of The Carlyle Hotel and Neiman Marcus.

For instance, their Pistachio ended up being a wild hit, overdosed with realistic, creamy, nutty, mouth-watering pistachio pumped up with vanilla créme and the cool spice of cardamom.
Big Sur After Rain started out as one of their candles and ended up so beloved, it was transformed into their Big Sur Eucalyptus bottle after non-stop rave reviews. And who wouldn’t want to wear the scent of rainwater in eucalyptus groves, with hints of magnolia and wet woods?
They even have a fragrance/enhancer – I Don’t Know What - that smells like glorious, musky citrus goodness simply on its own, but is specifically made to layer with other fragrances in the collection for endless options.
