Inspired by the picturesque neighborhood of Boston’s Back Bay, Sandy Carr wanted to share with us the beauty of private gardens, perfectly manicured, rooted in the history of their burnished brick and brownstone homes. Hidden just amongst the gates, we only see a glimpse of them, flourishing with supple, fragrant blossoms of heritage colors. An opening burst of bright bergamot envelops the heady floral tapestry, setting the stage for a luminous heart of sweet basil, galbanum and a nuance of ocean air, while ambergris and rare earth are grounding to an addictive base of sandalwood, cedar and crystallized amber.
Notes include bergamot, rose, iris, basil, ocean air, galbanum, sandalwood, cedar, crystallized amber.
- Sandy Carr was born in Rochester, NY, into a family who enthusiastically encouraged exploration, discovery and creativity. From her earliest memories she can recall being inspired by the natural culture of her surroundings and attracted to the sensory arts – fascinated with visual imagery, sounds, textures, and unique and compelling smells and tastes. She followed her nose to the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, studied her craft, influenced by her love for the natural beauty of Boston and the New England area. Having spent many happy hours on the trails of the Blue Hill Reservation, which inspired her first creation, she lovingly named her company BLUEHILL Fragrances.
