There are perfumes that make you think, and then there are perfumes that send thoughts racing through your head so effortlessly—perfumes whose first spray conveys a thousand words and images—that they are less an intellectual exercise than a magical journey of the imagination. Epic Woman, which many in the perfume world consider perfectly unisex, is the latter—taking us along the ancient Silk Road from China to Arabia. From the first fiery spray, Epic is hot desert winds, dusty roads, and precious spices. It is ancient tea ceremony, burning incense in an opulent temple, and dark roses in bloom. If the world and time that Epic represents exist now only in our imaginations, Epic brings them here and now. Notes include cumin, pink pepper, cinnamon, Damascene rose, geranium, jasmine, tea, amber, musk, oud, frankincense, guaiac wood, orris, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla.
  • In 1983, the Sultan of Oman established Amouage in the hopes of reviving the Omani tradition of perfumery. The perfumes often feature traditional Middle Eastern perfume materials. In 2006, Amouage brought on creative director Christopher Chong, who oversaw a complete reinvention of the house and helped to expand the house's international appeal. For Epic Woman, Chong worked alongside perfumers Cecile Zarokian and Daniel Maurel.
  • Epic Woman was inspired by the eternal legends of the ancient Silk Road from China to Arabia.
