A very good, and true, nod the the French floral perfumes of days past, without feeling dated. Flourishes of vibrant fig and bergamot tête-á-tête with a harmonious gathering of herby violet leaves, sage, and the dusty sunshine floral of cyclamen, then giving way to the the dusty orris in the heart. A truly French marriage of peach, orange flowers, and a commanding rose sprinkle their petals and juiciness over all the dusty powder present, which could almost hint at the shadowy gothic churches tucked in seemingly every corner of the streets of France. Dia’s base indeed has voluptuous musk for days, knitted into creamy, powdery woods and vanilla. Dia is day wear for when you want to enrobe yourself in ambrosial, classic sensuality worthy of French indulgence. Notes include fig, cyclamen, bergamot, tarragon, sage, violet leaves, bush peach blossoms, rose oil, orange flower, peony, orris, white musk, incense, vanilla, heliotrope, cedarwood, sandalwood, and guaiacwood.
In 1983, the Sultan of Oman established Amouage in the hopes of reviving the Omani tradition of perfumery. The perfumes often feature traditional Middle Eastern perfume materials. In 2006, Amouage brought on creative director Christopher Chong, who oversaw a complete reinvention of the house and helped to expand the house's international appeal.
