To say that Interlude Man is spicy, woody, and leathery would be a true statement— but also extraordinarily, woefully incomplete. Those facets are only this perfume's starting points, and each stage of development will lead you down new paths full of unexpected moments. Interlude Man was inspired by the chaos of life and juxtaposes a moment of harmony in its heart, but if this is chaos—from the plush pimento berry to the resinous dry down—we'll take disorder any day. This is a work of art. Notes include bergamot, oregano, pimento berry oil, amber, frankincense, cistus, opoponax, leather, agarwood, smoke, patchouli, and sandalwood.
In 1983, the Sultan of Oman established Amouage in the hopes of reviving the Omani tradition of perfumery. The perfumes often feature traditional Middle Eastern perfume materials. In 2006, Amouage brought on creative director Christopher Chong, who oversaw a complete reinvention of the house and helped to expand the house's international appeal. For Epic Woman, Chong worked alongside perfumers Cecile Zarokian and Daniel Maurel.
