Sous Le Pont Mirabeau

“Come, the night strikes the hour, / The days go by, I remain...” pines Guillaume Apollinaire, pondering love, time, and loss by the Seine in his famous poem, Le Pont Mirabeau (The Mirabeau Bridge). Immortalized by this poem, the entirely metal Mirabeau Bridge is one of the most famous in Paris, offering you one of the most beautiful viewpoints in all of the city to smell the water, the nearby stone, the air, the metal, and watch the life of the city go by as well. It’s fitting this perfume, then, smells almost sacred. Ozone and water drift past, pensive violet floral and incense settle on grounding, gentle wood and river rock, a faint fruitiness from a sunset-purple sky, and the memory of comforting musk from the skin of a past lover, all stop you in your tracks and bring you back, make you breathe in, as you ponder the beauty of time going by.

Notes include bergamot, pink peper, elemi, fig accord, incense superessence, water accord, ozonic accord, violet, cedarwood, sandalwood, orcanox, and musks.

  • État Libre d'Orange, or Orange Free State, was created by Etienne de Swardt to be a provocative, intelligent line, each perfume with a point of view. In the Free Orange State, there are no constraints and nothing is off limits. As the company declares in its manifesto, "Perfume is dead. Long live perfume!"
