One of the best things about becoming a fragrance connoisseur is the fun of exploring scent combinations that you'd rarely find in mass-market scents. This month, we're featuring three scents that juxtapose notes in unusual ways.

 


This time-tested classic juxtaposes patchouli with rose, and the effect is not the floral you might be expecting. Voleur de Roses ("The Rose Thief" in French) by L'Artisan Parfumeur captures a rose garden ravaged by a summer thunderstorm, complete with a whiff of petrichor, that famous scent of rain as it falls on the earth.
