Perfumery makes us think of natural materials, but since 1889, man-made molecules have been the true building blocks of modern fragrance. Nomenclature showcases the ingenuity of these molecules, and here the star is Orbitone - a dry, woody material with an arid quality like a desert night. We also get its peppery aspect, which is delicately balanced with a creamy sandalwood. Smooth and perfectly calibrated by perfumer Patricia Choux. Notes include violet, rhubarb, pepper, cedar, coffee, tobacco, smoke, and struck match, all revolving around the Orbitone molecule.

  • Nomenclature celebrates design in perfume chemistry by showcasing today’s most inspiring, exclusive molecules. The house explores thse molecules' complex facets and and demonstrates that these man-made hybrids of poetry and science have a beauty all their own.
