Real rose water is the water used in the distillation of rose petals. This is Monegal’s homage to the famed water, and oh, what a perfect homage it is. You may indeed find it hard to believe that this is not just actual bottled rose water, especially because he has found a way to create an illusion of a true water scent. This liquid is imbued with the most softhearted wisps of everything that makes a rose a rose: the complex, citrus-hinted petals, wafting upward from an earthen-green reinforcement that never tramples over even the mildest of notes. This is delicately swaddled in an accord described as “musk cocktail” which smells exactly as sensual and mysterious as it sounds. Perfumery can sometimes be like a magic trick, making very real things appear where there was nothing of the sort before. Notes include rose essence, tea rose, rose wardia, neroli, Indonesian patchouli and musk cocktail.
