"Gekkou Hanami" translates from Japanese as "flower gazing in moonlight." To complete that image, add a Japanese cherry tree exploding into light pink blooms that flutter to the ground like fat snowflakes. That's the inspiration for Gekkou Hanami, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz's olfactory ode to the cycle of life as celebrated in one Japanese tradition: picnicking under the cherry blossoms. Notes include cherry blossom, yuzu, sake, neroli, cedar, and frankincense.
