Ambre

By Molinard

  • You might have assumed that the scent we call "amber" comes from the fossilized golden rock we see in natural history museums. But guess what? That is real amber, but it doesn't really have a smell. Amber in perfumery is a mix of benzoin, labdanum, and vanilla and supposed to smell like amber looks: rich, golden, and warm. We like to wear amber scents on cooler evenings when their olfactory heat feels like a luxurious cashmere shawl. Notes include coriander, myrtle, thyme, incense, amber, labdanum, patchouli, cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, musk, and tonka.
  • Molinard is an iconic French perfume house that has been designing scents since 1849.
