Dasein

Winter Nights

Sam Rader created L.A.-based Dasein after a trip to Big Sur where she was inspired to make scents that showcase nature's olfactory complexity. Her first scent, Winter, was a runaway hit that Los Angeles stores couldn't keep on the shelves. With Winter's success, Winter Nights, followed right in its footsteps. Garnering an equally impressive cult-following, Winter Nights is a deeper, darker, more intense meditation on the same theme. The cardamom is smoked next to the driftwood bonfire where thick tree resins drip onto the hot embers. With an intense smokiness tilting this Winter version towards the more masculine side, it’s rich, deep, spiced and dirty…in the best of ways. Truthfully, we can't even imagine the season without it. Oh! Did we mention that this scent is a collaboration with Imaginary Authors perfumer Josh Meyer? True story. As if it weren't irresistible enough already.

Notes include coastal forest, driftwood bonfire, cardamom tea, lavender flowers, and wild musk.

  • Sam Rader, founder of Dasein, creates small-batch perfumes from her home in the hills of Los Angeles. The house gets its name from existentialist philosophers Hegel and Heidegger, who used the term "Dasein" (DAH-zyne) to define "human being" as the marriage between self-awareness and sensual experience. Dasein fragrances aim to awaken both.
