California can feel like a land apart, and not because of those infamous faultlines. It’s because of the surreal orange-pink sunsets. The bluer-than-blue skies. The redwoods that tower hundreds of feet over cool forests and the palm trees that, for generations, have lured dreamers west. It’s the beaches of the south and the rocky cliffs of the north. If you haven’t driven Highway 1, which winds its way up the breathtaking coast, put it on your bucket list.

Until then, there’s this.  A virtual drive up Highway 1, starting in Los Angeles. Then we travel to the Muir Woods where bracken fern thrives in the shade. We end our journey on the cliffs of Mendocino on a cool, misty evening.
