You’ve woken up early to walk through some flower-laden courtyard you’ve been privileged enough to stay at for as long as you’d like. The morning air is misty, and you watch it drifting down dew on the stony, saltwater ponds. Freesia, violets, and waxy green leaves surround everything. The stones, and what little gravel are present in this scene, are sparse enough to never take away from the natural beauty of it all, but plentiful enough to add a base, depth, and minerality to the moist, fragrant air. Picture yourself in a sheer, white gown that sways in the breeze, and fans the cold, salty, scent of this scene all around you. That's Reflection Woman, and you'll swear it was bottled just this morning. Notes include water violet, freesia, tropical green leaves, magnolia, ylang ylang, jasmine, amber, musk, cedarwood, and sandalwood.
In 1983, the Sultan of Oman established Amouage in the hopes of reviving the Omani tradition of perfumery. The perfumes often feature traditional Middle Eastern perfume materials. In 2006, Amouage brought on creative director Christopher Chong, who oversaw a complete reinvention of the house and helped to expand the house's international appeal.
